The Different Types
- Cloudy Lemonade: Dominant in North America and India, this still version is traditionally homemade by mixing fresh lemon juice, water, and a sweetener like cane sugar or honey. Its characteristic opaqueness comes from suspended lemon solids and zest, which are often left in the mixture to enhance flavor. (This is the one in the recipe page)
- Clear Lemonade: Common in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and South Africa, this variant is a transparent, lemon-flavored carbonated soft drink. While it can be consumed on its own, it is also frequently used as an ingreint in alcaholic drinks and cocktails
- Pink Lemonade: This variant is typically a cloudy lemonade coloured with red or pink stuff. Its pinky colour is achieved through fruit juices like cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, or grape, or can also be achieved through artificial food dyes. While many versions taste identical to standard lemonade, those made with real fruit juices may have a slightly sweeter taste
